When most others are fast asleep - the 2:00am Workout Club can be found listening to pounding techno beats, climbing feverishly through round three on the elliptical machine.  Who says there's not enough time in the day to workout?  The 2:00am Workout Club doesn't make any excuses - whether they're itching to hit the treadmills after a few rounds at The Franklin House or they've been up all night studying at the Uptown Cafe; there is always time to log a couple miles and burn off that burger you ate for lunch.

9)  Uptown Café

Running late?  The Uptown Café is a life-saver.  Plenty of breakfast options, as well as impressive pesto pizza and other specialty sandwiches at very reasonable prices.  VU students get a 10% discount - so make sure you flash your student ID to cash in on the savings.  They carry Evelyn Bay Brand coffee - if you like a bolder roast, give their traditional americano a try.  Open late, the Uptown Café is a great spot to hit the books.  Hooray for Uptown Café!

10) Granite Counter-tops

C'mon, everyone knows that granite counter-tops rock!  You can set pots on them directly off the stove... it's like magic - but with granite counters.

Granite is also a felsic, igneous rock; so three cheers for granite!  Clocking in at number 10, in the 10 reasons why everyone wants to live at Uptown East (and why those who live here are happy they do).
